~*~HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!~*~
I kind of dropped the ball on Valentine's Day this year. I usually get the kids cute outfits, get them a little present and make up Valentine cards for Rylie's class. This year? Not so much. I guess with everything going on I just got behind.
Would you believe that when I went out yesterday looking for a Valentine's Day shirt for Rylie I couldn't find one? Crazy, right? LOL So yeah, I didn't get anything for her to wear to school. Luckily she has a couple of shirts with hearts on them, so she had a couple to choose from and ended up wearing hearts, at least. I did get Bryce a shirt a few weeks ago, only because I happened to see it when I was looking for short sleeved shirts for him. It says "Chick Magnet" on it. That's my boy! I'll get a picture one of these days.
Luckily they are both too young to really expect some kind of present from their parents. Why? Because I didn't get them one. What kind of mother am I? Put me in for another one of those awards, please. All three sets of grandparents sent cards, so at least they will have those.
I am happy to say that Rylie will be taking little Valentine goodie bags to school to pass out to her friends. But that was even touch and go there for a while. The other day I was at Target by my office and they had a HUGE section of Valentine's Day cards, candy, gifts, etc. So imagine my surprise yesterday when I went to the Target by my house and the shelves were EMPTY. Seriously. They had one little section that had the packages of little cards, and one little section of candy, but that was it. And the only individually wrapped candy were 5 bags of cherry Three Musketeers. Gross. So I got some "3D" cards and left. Thank goodness for CVS. I was able to find a few bags of decent candy (Fun Dip, Reese's hearts, candy bracelets, Sweet Tarts and M&Ms) so that I could make up these little treat bags...
I know they're nothing special, but the kids just care about the candy anyway, so I'm sure they will love them! Hey, at least she's taking something.
Since I didn't get any pictures of the kids in time for this post, I'll leave you with their pictures from last year. These don't even look like the same kids! Especially Bryce! Flashbacks are so much fun!
I hope you all have a wonderful Valentine's Day! Even if you think the holiday is a totally overrated Hallmark holiday, take a minute to let your Valentine know just how much you love them. It doesn't have to be with a gift, either. Well, at least I hope it doesn't, since I dropped the ball on that too. OOPS! :-)

happy vday to you and your sweethearts! love the flashback photos as well! :) <3
I was in Target yesterday....the shelves were bare!! I guess we should know not to wait until the last minute..LOL! Thankfully I had picked up some candy the week before. But Christopher's school has a 'no candy' policy anyway...which stinks :( The bags you made are great...I am sure the kdis are going to love them :)
I really don't like Valentine's Day. Not quite sure why.....but I really don't get all up into the hype of it. But I WILL do whatever I can to make it special for my girls and their class parties. This year we just did Teddy Grahams in heart ziploc baggies. I printed out "I'm "BEARY" glad we're friends" and we stapled them to the bag. Cute, quick, and cheap!
My Target still has a decent selection of candy and cards, but they haven't had ANY shirts for little girls. I've been looking since Christmas for a V-day shirt for my daughter and there haven't been any. The older girls (5/6 and up) have options, but not the lil ones. :((

You made those so cute in spite of the fact it wasn't what you had intended to do. I'm not a big V-day fan either. I'm just eating a frozen meal tonight as a matter of fact before I plop on the couch for The Bachelor! ;)
Happy Valentine's Day!
Haha, you did more than I did! I bought a box of valentine's, scribbled Angelica's name on them and sent her to school with that and a bottle of apple juice. LOL. Yours came out GREAT!
BTW Angelica was sitting in my lap while I was reading your blog this weekend and said, "Hey! That's Rylie! I want to see her!" So I think we do need to schedule a playdate soon :)
This is awesome! And, pretty much the way we "celebrate" too. The last thing my kids need is more candy & toys. LOL! We also have a no candy policy, so I sent her with Tangled Valentines and pencils. This year, she wrote the names on them herself, so at least we the whole concept of Valentine giving became a little more educational this year!
Happy V day!
Aww, flashbacks are so fun! What adorable pictures, LeeAnn! I just love it!
Happy Valentine's Day to y'all!
