Good News And Bad News

Happy Friday my friends! This week has gone by so slow. I can't believe it has been a week already since we said goodbye to Cosmo. It has been hard. It is so strange to come home to just one dog greeting me at the front door. I miss him so much. We received sympathy cards yesterday and today, and each one brought me back to last Friday and the tears started flowing. I appreciate everyone's kind words here, during phone calls, on Facebook and in emails. I truly treasure all of you, and you have all helped me get through this difficult time.

Finally, after a month of sickies, worries and heartache, I have some good news. Rylie had her last round of allergy testing today. I am happy to report that she does not have any environmental allergies, according to the two torture sessions skin tests that she had. The blood tests for nuts came back positive for allergies to cashews and pistachios. While that isn't good news, we already knew about the cashew allergy, so we are used to avoiding tree nuts altogether. I'm just glad we don't have to deal with the environmental stuff on top of that. Yay!

Now for the bad news. I seem to be having just a little too much of that in my life lately. Bryce hasn't been sleeping well the past couple of nights. In fact, he whined and screamed so much Wednesday night that I hardly slept at all. I have been checking his ears for signs of drainage and didn't see any, so I just chalked it up to the fact that he is getting all of his molars and he is probably miserable. Alas, his ears started draining tonight. I was holding him and just happened to look at his ear and it was full of the crap. UGH! So what does this mean? Well, the ENT said if he could make it until his next appointment with no ear infections that we were probably in the clear, but this is his second in less than a month. Which means that he will now probably go ahead with the adenoid removal, and will also re-do the tubes. I HATE thinking about my little boy having to have surgery again, but I just want all of this to stop.

We have certainly had a rough month around here. I don't know how much more sickies, worry and heartache I can take. I'm spent. I'm sorry it hasn't been all sunshine and rainbows around this blog lately, but I am so glad I have you all to whine to. :-)

So what is everyone up to this weekend? We'll probably have a pretty quiet weekend around here. Rylie is going to Mama and Papa's house tomorrow and won't be back home until Wednesday. They have all kinds of fun things planned for her, like trips to Busch Gardens and the zoo. I wish I could take a few days off and go too! I'm going to try to work on this blog some this weekend. I have some housekeeping I need to do, and I need to catch up with everyone. I know I have been saying that for a while, but this weekend I should really have time to do it.

I hope everyone has a great weekend!!!

I saw the title of your post and I was like The bad news better not be too bad! This really hasn't been the best month for you guys but that just means that the upcoming one will be SO much better!

I'm glad that things with Rylie are all sorted out and I'm sorry that Bryce has to have surgery but at least then it will (hopefully) be all taken care of, right?

Get some R & R this weekend, LeeAnn! You deserve it!

So glad to hear the Rylie doesn't have any 'additional' allergies!! I am sure you are relieved. It is going to be so fun for her to spend some time with your parents...and you could probably use the break :) But my poor little Bryce :( As much as you hate having to have surgery again, better now when he is not going to remember it. In the long run, it will make him more comfortable and make your life a little easier :) Hope you have a good weekend buddy :)

Definitely not a week I would want to ever have.

I just don't understand why Bryce keeps getting those darn infections even with the tubes. I hope he feels better soon.

Enjoy your week without Rylie maybe Mama and Papa would like to watch Honey too? LOL!!!!!!!

Oh, man, what a bummer for Bryce, but hopefully, the adenoid removal will mean a lot less sickies for him in the future. I know the whole surgery thing is going to be stressful too...hopefully, when it's all done you'll have no worries through the summer!

I've miss you on email lately! I hope you guys have a fantastic weekend!

I'm so sorry about Bryce! That really sucks about his ears. I hope they can fix it. :( I'm glad you have a definite answer regarding Ry's allergies. Can you add peanut butter back in now? You definitely have had a rough month. I hope you get a break from all that worry! xo
