The Sickies Have Invaded!

The sickies are taking over my house! This has not been a fun week for us. First, Bryce woke up Monday morning barking like a sick seal, and he was diagnosed with Croup. On Tuesday, I wasn't feeling so hot and by noon, I felt like I was knocking on death's door. I laid around on the couch all night Tuesday night with a fever, and ended up at urgent care yesterday. I got a Z-pack and already feel so much better. This morning Rylie woke up with a fever. We went to the pediatrician a little bit ago and she has an ear infection. I gave her the first dose of her antibiotics and now she is taking a nap.

This is the WORST week this could have happened! The main reason being that Rylie's birthday is tomorrow, and we have 25 kids coming to her party on Saturday. Hopefully the antibiotics kick in and get her well, FAST! The other reason is that this is my busiest time at work. I'm an accountant, and the second week of each month is my busiest week. I have several reports that need to be done to report the prior month's numbers, and I have a limited window to do those reports in. I have basically been out all week, except for a few hours Tuesday morning when I was doing everything I could to stay awake at my desk. Luckily my boss is very understanding and knows there isn't much I can do, but those reports still have to get done. Needless to say, I'll be at work most of this weekend.

I really hate this time of the year. It seems like the first few weeks in January is when this stuff always strikes. How many of you are home with sick kids this week? For those of you who have escaped the wrath, I hope you all stay well! This is certainly no fun.

Oh, I really hope everyone is well for the party! Put the whole family in bed early and no one do anything stressful until after the party is over... and that includes worrying about work. It'll all get done, just do what you can and enjoy Rylie's birthday!

So sorry,
I loath Jan and Feb because of sickness. We have pretty healthy so far, but since I run a daycare, we are exposed to so much more and I hoping that helps my children immune system. I have doubled their immune vitamins. Hopefully that works. I am so anal about germs,so bad that I do not let them play in mcdonalds play areas because of so many germs. I am sooo bad. Probably not the best parenting, but I have taught them that that place has so many they do not even ask anymore. Chuck cheese too. Ugggg!Hope everybody feels better soon.

Oh no! Sounds like you all are having a tough week! I hope everyone gets well enough to still have the birthday party!

I wish I lived closer, I'd drop some chicken noodle soup off on your doorstep...and then run :)

Take care of yourself!

Poor babies :( Luckily the antibiodics normally kick in fast and hard ... fingers crossed Rylie is healthy by her party day!!

P.S. what plug-in do you use for your star divider?

Oh no! I hope you all get better quickly and the party goes off without a hitch. Why do kids always get sick right before their birthday? We are sick at my place too except we are in Mexico on vacation. Worst timing! :(

I really hope Rylie gets better!! We are dealing with the same thing in this house... we have had a cold that just keeps cycling its way through our family. WIth that cold and nasty cough, Abby has had an ear infection... twice! Ugh. We just started another round of antibiotics today.

Happy Birthday Rylie - I hope she has a blast on Sunday :)
