Rylie's Third Birthday

My little girl is three! She finally kicked those sickies to the curb and ended up having a great birthday!

I made the call early Friday morning to postpone her party. Her party was supposed to be Saturday morning, but she woke up Friday with a low fever, so I wanted to give her another day to recuperate, and I certainly didn't want to get anyone at the party sick. Luckily the place had an opening at 3 on Sunday, because their next available party date wasn't until February 6th!

Friday was her actual birthday. We had planned to go to Rainforest Cafe for dinner, but we nixed that since she still wasn't feeling great. We had a quiet day and evening at home, but we still had to sing Happy Birthday and let her blow out a candle. Since I couldn't find any kind of goodies at the store without tree nut warnings, she had a little bowl of ice cream with a candle.

She got so excited when we sang Happy Birthday to her and wanted us to sing it over and over again. She giggled every time. She got to open a couple of presents too. So what if she spent all day in her jammies? She still had a good day.

Her party was so much fun! It was at GMA Adventure Zone, which is a gym that has a bunch of bounce houses, trampolines, and other fun things to play on. What I really like about the place is that it was private, so the only people that were there were us. All the kids had a great time!

Are you ready for some serious picture overload? :-)

Bryce and Daddy started off by playing in the shark bounce house.

Rylie went from bounce house to bounce house and bounced around as much as she could. At one point her daddy wasn't available for tackling, so she tackled Angelica's daddy instead.

The rope swing was a big hit with all of the kids!

There was a "Tumble Track", which was basically a long string of trampolines around the back corner of the building. The kids all had fun running and jumping on that!

And of course there were slides...some small, some not so small. Neither of my kids have any fear when it comes to these. Bryce even goes by himself!

I tried really hard to get a bunch of pictures of all the kids playing, but when you have a bunch of 3 and 4 year olds running around, it just isn't easy. Action shots are about all you get.

The kids played for about an hour and a half, and then it was time for pizza and cake.

Remember how I was dreading having to make cupcakes? Well not anymore! I spent Saturday evening baking 8 dozen cupcakes, and then my friend Debi and I decorated them. I'll let you be the judge, but I think they turned out pretty great!

Rylie sure did love them! I made a special one for her that had all three colors on it, and she was so excited to blow out her candles.

(And no, that is not nose-pick going on next to her. It's just bad hand positioning. LOL)

I think everyone enjoyed their cupcakes. We had a lot of frosting covered faces!

When we got home after the party, I was honestly surprised that Rylie was still awake. Once we got everything unloaded, she got down to some serious present opening.

She got so many awesome gifts! I have no clue where I am going to put all of this stuff, though. We still haven't even gotten all of the Christmas presents put away yet!

Well, another successful birthday party is behind us. Thank you to all of our family and friends that came out to help Rylie celebrate her special day! I hope you all had a great time!

Wow...it looks like Rylie had a blast. Doesn't it make you feel so good to watch them light up with excitement?? I am sure all of the kids loved the party....what more can kids ask for than bounce houses, pizza and cupcakes. And by the way, the cupcakes looked amazing! You can surely help me in a month to make for both my boys..LOL!
