Neatnik Saucer {Review & Giveaway}

How many other moms out there said something like this before they had kids - "When I have kids, I will never...", and then ended up doing that very thing after you had kids? You can't see me, but I am definitely raising my hand now. When I was in college I used to wait tables. I used to hate it when people with kids would sit in my section. They always seemed to make a huge mess, and of course they always left it for me to clean up. I said that when I had kids, there is no way I would let them make a mess like that.

Fast forward to now. I have two little ones that have made their share of messes. Especially Bryce. I don't know how he does it, but sometimes he manages to get more food on the floor than he does in his mouth. I always leave awesome tips, apologize profusely to my server, and leave with my head hung in shame for doing the very thing I said I would never do.

I was recently sent a Neatnik Saucer for review, and my days of leaving food all over the floor at a restaurant are over! The Neatnik Saucer isn't just any ordinary high chair cover. With a large 28 inch diameter, the Neatnik Saucer protects your baby from coming into contact with those nasty restaurant high chairs, and protects the restaurant's floor from being littered with baby's dinner.

The Neatnik Saucer provides extended table and play space for baby diners. The Neatnik Saucer fits in standard restaurant high chairs and overlaps the dining table so babies can play with their toys and eat their meals without dropping food to the floor or putting unsanitary objects in their mouths. Easy to clean and easy to carry (Neatnik Saucers collapse into a 12" x 12" matching carrying case), the Neatnik Saucer is the must-have companion for today's on-the-go parents.

We received the "Chicago" pattern of the Neatnik saucer. One of the features I immediately liked about this product is that it was small to carry around. It folds up nicely into it's carrying case, which you can carry by the strap. We have tried a few other high chair covers in the past, and I always hated how bulky they were.

It was very easy to place the Neatnik Saucer in the high chair. We simply unfolded it, placed the seat portion into the high chair and positioned the chair close to the table. We pressed down on the outer rim of the Saucer and the suction cups stuck to the table very easily. We had a little bit of difficulty getting Bryce's legs through the holes at first, but I liked that the fabric closed loosely around his legs to help keep all of that dropped food in. Once we got his legs through, he was all ready to eat!

As you can see from the pictures, Bryce was not able to come into contact with any surface except for the Neatnik Saucer. This is especially nice for little teethers who like to gnaw on restaurant tables! And I'm happy to report that most of his food stayed off the floor. (I'm telling you...he can throw food like he's a quarterback throwing a 50 yard pass for the winning touchdown!) Clean up was fairly easy too. We were able to gather up all of the stray food and empty it on to a plate, and then we just wiped down the saucer before we folded it back up and put it back in the case. I didn't try to fold it, but my husband didn't have any problems. I definitely recommend this product to all families that eat out with little ones!

Not only do I like the Neatnik Saucer, our server thought it was the neatest thing ever! I'm sure he just liked the fact that he didn't have a mess to clean up like he usually does after we leave. :-)

We did run into one issue with the Neatnik Saucer. We found that if the table was much higher than the high chair, it was angled too much and didn't really fit right. However, we did only run into that one time, and had good experiences with it at every other restaurant.

The Neatnik Saucer can be purchased online, or at several retailers, for $32.95. It comes in the Chicago pattern that we received, and also in three other patterns - Cambridge, Sidney and Miami.
