For those that have been following my blog for a while now, you know that I have been trying to lose weight. I used to participate in McFatty Monday, until I achieved my "big" goal, and then I felt that my posts were getting a little repetitive. During those days, I went from 177 lbs to just under 150. My "big" goal was 150, and when I met that, I was happy. BUT...I am still about 12 pounds heavier than I was when I got pregnant with Rylie, and I still strive to see the 130s again.
I am a habitual weigher. I weigh myself every morning before I get in the shower. I know that isn't the best thing to do when you're dieting, but I still do it. I don't really look at each day's weight and worry that one day is higher than the last, but I concentrate more on the trend. If the scale keeps going up, I know I need to evaluate what I have been eating and slow it down. If it keeps going down, then I know I'm on the right track.
The scale we had recently died (probably from my daily weigh-ins), so I was glad to receive a new scale from EatSmart Products. EatSmart is a small business with a focus on helping people obtain healthy lifestyles. They offer nutrition scales, kitchen scales and bathroom scales. I received the EatSmart Digital Bathroom Scale for review.
At first glance, I really liked the large 12" x 13" platform of this scale. I also liked that it came with the 4 AAA batteries that it needs. I unpacked it and installed the batteries and it was ready to go.
Before the first use (or after you move the scale) you have to auto-calibrate it. You just weigh yourself normally and a "C" will appear to let you know it is ready to use. The first weight may not be accurate and can be disregarded. Once the scale has been calibrated it can be used normally.
The EatSmart Digital Bathroom Scale has 4 high precision sensors for consistent and accurate measurement, for weights up to 400 pounds. Another feature of this scale that I really like is that you just stand on it to weigh yourself...you don't have to tap it and wait for it to set to zero. It also has a large LCD display that is easy to read.
Yes, those are my feet, and I am showing you my weight. Why? Because I am proud of it! I am proud that I am still in the 140s and I didn't gain much weight over the holidays. I don't really make New Year's resolutions, but I am determined to lose more. I'm glad I have my EatSmart scale to help!

One good piece of advice I have is to watch your liquid calorie intake. I don't drink soda's and other sugary drinks. Even diet soda's are not good for you. Stick with things like water (add lemon, orange or cranberry juice to give it some flavor)or unsweetened iced tea.
I try drinking 2 glasses of water 20-15 before eating a main meal. This prevents me for eating more than I should and helps me drink my daily intake of water
I watch calories - that way I'm not avoiding things I love, rather prioritizing my calories throughout the day!

Best weight loss for myself is to avoid snacking while at work all day, that is my downfall. So, I try ot make a bag of popcorn for my all day snack. Living healthy is hard for me, but I try to do 5 quick minutes of exercise every couple hours while at work in my office. LIke windmills and lunges.

The only way I seem to be able to lose weight is to not eat between meals - absolutely nothing - only water. If I snack on anything - even something healthy - I tend to go overboard.

I don't have a weight loss secret since I've been this weight since high scool )except when I gained 33 pounds while pregnant)
1) rarely eat fast food
2) rarely eat after 7pm
3) work out 3-5 times a week
4) limit bread, fat and sugar
And I weigh myself almost daily and take measurements every few months. Sounds obsessive but it works for me.

For keeping healthy, I eat all whole grains and lots of vegetables. Keeping cut raw vegetables in the refrigerator for snacks is a good idea.

My best "secret" is eating healthier - portion control, lots of fruits & veggies, and allowing myself one or two sweets a day (I have a sweet tooth and do better with moderation vs completely cutting it out.) I also try to "work out" by walking several days a week. That's how I lost the baby weight after my last son and I plan to do this to lose the baby weight from my newest little one, who is 2 weeks old! Thanks for the chance to win!

I've never had to lose weight before. This is my first time trying. But the best way for me to stay thin (when i was thin) was some regular moderate exercise and a good healthy diet. More veggies and fruit than anything, little to no meat, no fast food, drink only water, and have snacks and sweets one day a week.

My weight loss got easier by making myself do at least one trip a day on my bicycle. It could be a commute, or an errand, doesn't have to be any more than 10 minutes each way.... but gives me a baseline, a teeny bit of fitness that I do every single day. Because its part of another activity - it gets me to something I need to do - it's not a whole activity in itself, so I don't postpone the 'fitness' block of my day. I threw out the 'so what if I sweat - I'm doing it anyway' reservation that held me back for so long and ended up being not an issue that bugged me at all.
