Bryce woke up this morning with a cough that sounded like a sick seal. He was acting fine and ate all of his breakfast, but that cough was scary sounding so I took him to the pediatrician. After the doctor listened to his chest, he was quickly diagnosed with
Croup. She prescribed him a steroid and sent us on our way. He is now sleeping. He's had a cold for the past few days, and he is cutting his molars, so I'm sure he doesn't feel real great. Poor kid. It just seems to be one thing after another with him. I guess that is par for the course with a daycare kid.
I hope this virus doesn't spread around my house, and that Bryce gets better real soon. Rylie's birthday party is this weekend, and I would hate for him to miss it, like he did last year. I would also hate for Rylie to be sick on her birthday. She doesn't seem to get sick much lately, so hopefully her immune system will fight this thing off.

Man, it's one thing after another! We've had the croup before several times...when Cam had it, it scared the crap outta me. Now, I know how to handle it. The steriod will help tremendously...during coughing fits stay with him in the bathroom and run the shower on hot until the whole room fogs up, after 20 min or so take him out and let him breathe the cold freezer air...that helps open the airway. We have a nebulizer which helps tons too. Hopefully, he'll be good to go for the party!
Seriously, what's going on in your house? You need a break from all the illness that has been going on!

Hayden had croup around the same age, we had to go to the ER! It's so scary!

The croup is no fun. My daughter had it for the 1st time in the fall. We put a humidifier in her room for a month or so.

Geez...what is going on over there?? Poor little guy. I am sure he is miserable. Try to keep patient...give him lots of hugs and kisses and he will get better faster. I am sure all will be fine for Rylie's birthday :)
