I guess all of the nice people go to work early. So when I leave after 7:30 like I have been doing, I get to share the road with inconsiderate idiots. First let’s talk about the red light runners. Why do these people think that they are so important that they don’t have to follow stop lights? My main gripe is the people turning left from one major road onto another major road. When I have a green light and can’t go because one person (or five) decides that they don’t want to sit through another light cycle and continue to make that left turn right in front of me, I just want to gun my truck and ram into the side of them. (I have an Armada…who do you think will win?) Who in the hell do they think they are? I have to get to work too, you know. Orlando started installing red light cameras a couple years ago, and I am ALL FOR THEM! I think they should be on every single intersection in the whole Orlando-metro area!
And how about those people that don’t want to wait in line for an exit ramp or a turn lane? You know, the ones that drive up to the front of the line in the next lane over and then block traffic in that lane until they are able to force themselves over? Again, why do they think they are so important that they can just stop traffic in the middle of the interstate with a speed limit of 55 or more? I’m usually in the lane they are trying to force themselves in, but if I were in that center lane and they made me stop, I would be equally as mad. I used to stay super close to the car in front of me so that those jerks couldn’t get in front of me, but then they will just drive up further and scoot in even further up the line, so lately I have been just letting them in. WAIT YOUR TURN LIKE EVERYONE ELSE!!!
My favorite of all of these reckless, inconsiderate drivers are the ones that don’t stop for school buses. Trust me, I absolutely HATE getting behind a school bus, but I would NEVER endanger a child’s life because I am in a hurry. I drive on a very busy six lane road to get from the interstate to my office. It does not have a median. There is a school bus that stops on the opposite side of the road every morning to pick up kids. Do the people on my side of the road stop? NO! And if I stop (because that is the law, you know) I get honked at, cussed at, etc.
Does anyone live in a city where there are polite drivers? Does that even exist? Between the crime here and these rude, inconsiderate people, I am so ready to just get the heck out of this area! The crime seems to be getting so much worse lately. We have had several break ins in our neighborhood, and I live in a pretty nice section of town. Oh, and there was a cop killed about two miles from my office last week. But a murder in the area where I work isn’t generally big news…it happens often. Gotta love it!
It’s Christmas, people. Stop rushing. Stop being rude. If people drove with just a little more consideration, traffic wouldn’t be near as bad as it is.

You should totally move here. Although, here, the biggest gripe is OLD drivers that run red lights because of their cataracts, although the running red light thing is seriously a HUGE PROBLEM. I drive on a 6 lane road to the girls' school and the same thing happens with the school bus. I stopped one day and got honked at and flipped off, which prompted me to look up the law, and I was right NO MEDIAN = STOP FOR BUS.
I think road rage and inconsiderate drivers are a problem anywhere you go. I just try to keep a smile on my face and when people really tick me off, I roll down the window and yell "Jesus Loves You" and then mutter "a-hole" under my breath.
LeeAnn I know all too well what you're talking about since I live here too. =) Driving even 10 miles is such a chore at the wrong time in the morning. It could bring me to tears on a bad day! I'm really glad about those red light cameras too.
I left that last comment under an old email somehow. It is Amanda from Alligator Lane that shows as "me". =)
If you think the drivers are bad in Florida (which we view as a 'slow' state..LOL), you should live here in NY!! It is crazy...people are nuts. I feel your pain. And like you said, it is Christmas. You would think people would be nicer :)
Drivers have their days here I guess (in WV)...when they are bad, they are really bad though...lol
Following you from Friendly Friday. Please stop by Harvest For Tomorrow if you get a chance.

Nope no nice drivers here! Sucks!
OH you have got to be kidding about the school bus!!!! I have never seen that, but that would tick me off enough to get their license plate number and call them in.
The exit ramp people are definitely my biggest issue, I get so angry that they think THEY can basically cut in line like the lunch line in school.
I use to have a huge problem with this before they fixed the exit I take to work I use to have to leave about 20 minutes early just to get off the turnpike and those people would just make my blood boil!
