Sunday Funnies And Other News

Whew! What a week! I am so glad the last week has come to an end. Bryce is feeling much better (more on that in a minute) and Rylie is back home. We get to start all over again tomorrow. At least we only have a three day work week this week!

I have a couple funnies for you tonight...

The other night Rylie was drinking her milk and goofing off. She made a big ole mustache and said "Look Daddy, I have a milkstache!"

A few minutes later, she got this silly grin on her face. When Brian asked her why she was smiling like that she giggled and said "I tooted!" Oh wait, that isn't the funny part. We're all used to Rylie and her toots around here. The funny part is that she said "You couldn't hear it because it was smooth." LMAO Smooth? Really, kid?

And in other news...

The cause of Bryce's 104.8 degree fever was Roseola. The proof is in the rash...

I don't know how well you can see it in the first two pictures, but that rash is all over his face, his torso and his back. It doesn't bother him, but it looks awful. I'm just glad that crazy fever is gone and he is starting to get back to normal! He hasn't eaten much since Tuesday, so I imagine he has lost some weight. His appetite came back a little bit today, and hopefully we'll have our little piggy back by Thanksgiving.

I pretty much knew it was Roseola, and now I feel a little silly for freaking out like I did over his fever Thursday. We went through this same thing with Rylie, only her fever never got above 103.5. Sometimes it is hard to stay rational when your kid is as sick as he was. I was really worried. But he is on the mend now, and thankfully he won't be able to catch that nasty virus again!

And also? We finally turned Rylie's car seat around this weekend. Most of you all know by now that I am a HUGE advocate of extended rear facing. I had really planned to keep Rylie rear facing until at least 3, but we decided to go ahead and turn her now. She was getting pretty uncomfortable rear facing, which is fine for short trips, but we have a couple of pretty long road trips coming up.

One of the pros of her staying rear facing was the whole DVD logistics thing. There is a DVD player built into my truck, but since the kids were rear facing we bought a portable one to hook up where they could see it. I didn't want to turn her and have two different DVD players going. Lucky for me, my husband is a genius and figured out how to hook the DVD players together. So we now have two screens, but with the same movie.

She doesn't look very happy, does she? Well that is because we picked her up from being with Mama and I don't think she wanted to come home. STINKER! She honestly looked like she was fighting tears for the first half hour of the ride home. She loves her Mama and Papa so much and always has so much fun with them! She was fine once we got home, though, and we all managed to have a fun night tonight. It was a nice ending to this horrible week we have had.

I hope everyone has a great week this week! I am going to try so hard to catch up with all of my bloggy friends this week (I know, I have been a bad blogger lately, and I'm really sorry), but if I don't talk to you personally, I hope everyone has a Happy Thanksgiving! Gobble Gobble!

Awww, sucks that Bryce has the virus but glad he's doing fine =)

yea, my daughter loves it when she "toots" too, always thinking it's the funniest thing in the world, and i guess it kinda is since we always laugh at her!

Gotta love "toot" humor - that's big one around our house :-)

I'm so glad he is feeling better. I know scary those high fevers are...you are completely entitled to panic! The Rylie toot story is a riot! Oh, the things that they come up with.

I'm an advocate of extended rear facing too, although, I turned Chloe around at 16 months...she was starting to get squirrley facing backwards and I kept accidentally hitting her head on the roof of my truck trying to get her in. LOL. Poor kid. I've been missing your emails!

Have a happy Turkey Day, LeeAnn!

Poor little buddy :( He looks so pleasant, though, all things considered.

I used to SCREAM when we left my grandparents house, it would make my mom so mad. When I was 5 they moved to FL (we're in PA) so it wasn't a problem anymore but I cried every time that we left there for a visit (clear up until I was 13!).
