This is not how I want to feel on a Monday morning. We had a great weekend (up until midnight last night, that is), but it was definitely exhausting.
Brian’s birthday celebration at Universal was so much fun! I will post more about that tomorrow. And yes, there will be pictures, because some of these you just have to see.
On Sunday I took Rylie to a birthday party for one of her friends at school. It was at a bounce house place, and now I see why Brian is always so beat up after those parties. Usually he is the one that takes Rylie up to the big slides, and goofs off with her, but since I had never even met the parents of this girl, I didn’t want to just show up with an extra kid. So Brian and Bryce stayed home. The party was a lot of fun. Unfortunately Rylie couldn’t climb up some of the bigger slides because they just had those little blocks and they were too far apart for her to reach. So I had to help her, which meant carrying her up all of them. It was worth it, though, to hear her giggle all the way down!
My body is suffering now, though. Between walking around Universal all day Saturday and then climbing around with a 25+ pound weight on my side yesterday, I got more exercise than I have in the past year! I have pain in muscles I didn’t even know I had! And then to top it off, I only got three hours of sleep last night.
When I was getting in to bed (FINALLY!) at midnight last night, Bryce started wailing. Since he usually never wakes up, I figured something was wrong so I went and got him out of his bed. I ended up being up with him until 2AM. He just didn’t want to lay down. I figured he had yet another ear infection, since that is the only thing that has ever prevented him from sleeping. I gave him some Motrin around 1 and he finally fell asleep an hour later. Of course the whole time he wanted only Mommy, so Brian and I couldn’t even tag team like we usually do. Sure enough, his ear was draining this morning. Poor kid.
Sooooo…it looks like we’ll be scheduling surgery to have Bryce’s adenoids taken out. We have a follow up appointment with the ENT scheduled for Wednesday and when I called this morning to let them know what was going on, the nurse said that we would probably just use that as a pre-op appointment. I HATE the thought of my little buddy having to have surgery, but I want him to get better and stay better. I’ll keep you posted.
How was your weekend? Did anyone do anything exciting? I hope you all have a great week!
I hope this post made sense. I think my mind is still asleep...
