Brian's Birthday - Plan B

Since Plan A for Brian's birthday ended up being a total flop, we went with Plan B and headed out to Universal Orlando for the day. We have annual passes, but the last few times we went we had kids with us, so we were looking forward to an "adult day" where we could ride all of the rides and didn't have to spend all day in Seuss Landing. :-) Brian's good friend Spencer went with us, and my brother (Danny) and his friend Krista met us out there.

We started off at Islands of Adventure. I love the rides in that park! The Hulk has been my long time favorite, but the new Harry Potter ride is pretty awesome!

You can already get an idea of how the day was when this is the first picture on the camera...

And no, that isn't just soda. ;-) It was at this point I knew I was going to be the designated driver for this outing.

Brian and Spencer gearing up for the day.

Our first ride and one of my favorites...The Incredible Hulk Coaster!
This was taken from the top of the Dr. Doom ride!

Getting ready to ride Spider-Man!

I didn't want to go on any water rides because I hate walking around all wet, but for some stupid reason I agreed to go on Jurassic Park. Krista had never been to Islands of Adventure before and asked if we would get wet. I told her we will get a little splash. Um, yeah. Danny, Krista and Spencer got a little splash, but Brian and I got soaked! So much for my hair!

A quick beer stop before the next ride...

They have Butterbeer in the Harry Potter section of the park. It is so yummy! It is like a butterscotch soda. When you get it, the foam seems to grow. Of course Spencer had to taste it.

After we rode the awesome new Harry Potter ride and Dragon Challenge (the old Dueling Dragons) we headed over to Universal to check out the new Rip Ride Rockit roller coaster. Unfortunately it was getting dark so I don't have any pictures, but that was an awesome ride! The park was closed by the time we got done with that and Danny and Krista headed home. This was about the time the night started getting quite amusing.

I went to use the bathroom and came out to find Brian and Spencer laying in the grass. Not a good sign.

We headed over to the Hard Rock Cafe for dinner. Since we were supposed to be at the Hard Rock Casino in Tampa, Brian decided he needed his picture under a Hard Rock sign.

We had a great dinner and of course the boys had more drinks.

By the time we got done with dinner, it was pretty cold out so I went in the gift shop to buy an overpriced jacket so I didn't freeze. Brian stayed with me. When we came out, Spencer was sitting in a wheelchair. The next few minutes were like something straight out of an episode of Jackass! Brian decided that it would be fun to push Spencer down the stairs in the wheelchair. OMG I can't believe no one got hurt! And if that weren't enough, then he decided to pull him back up. And then back down again they came...

I don't know if you had to be there, but I am seriously laughing right now just remembering the antics of those two dummies!

Once I finally convinced them that the wheelchair was not theirs to take, we headed over to Cigarz and hung out for a while.

On our way out, Brian decided to finish up the night by surfing...cigar and beer in hand!

We had a great time! Some more than others, obviously. Brian ended up having a great birthday! Now we just have to come up with an event to use that bus...

Looks like fun for sure! I haven't been back to Universal since a sorority date function back at UF! And, that seems like forever ago! I do remember it was loads of fun though!

It looks like you guys had a fab time! My husband and I are always talking about doing a Disneyland trip without the kids so we can go on the adult rides, but so far we have not found any time to do it. I wish Disneyland would sell beer, that would make everything much more interesting!

Happy Belated Bday to the hubs!
