My kids love to dance! Rylie is always showing us her "moves", and even before Bryce learned to walk, he would stand there and be bop to music. If there is music playing, they will be dancing. When I was asked to review the CD "Rattle On" by The Rattles, I jumped at the chance.
Here is a little information about The Rattles from their press release:
New York, NY – Armed with a bright-eyed and bushy-tailed fusion of classic rock and power pop, The Rattles are on a roll! Parents, kids, and music lovers of all ages have been singing unanimous praises for ‘RATTLE ON’ (August 17th), the lively full-length debut from this furry musical menagerie – composed of life-long friends Gus, Sal, Hal, and Kitty.
Acclaimed parenting author and ‘Chicken Soup for the Soul’ Editor, Susan Heim referred to the album as “unique”, “catchy”, and “awesome” while Blissful Bee Blog recommended it to “anyone who has children that love music.” The Clever Mommy Chronicles drew comparisons to The Beatles, They Might Be Giants, and Rilo Kiley, and raved, “Really, truly, the CD is fantastic. In fact, I was disappointed because it only has nine tracks. I found myself wanting more. That’s pretty big for a kids’ CD!”
To celebrate the ‘RATTLE ON’ album release, The Rattles recently unveiled their snazzy new official website, RattlesRock.com. This fully decked-out, colorful little corner of cyber-space allows The Rattles’ biggest fans to read up on the band’s back-story, listen to some groovy tunes, scope out a slew of tour photos, play interactive games, and shop for official band gear at the online store. There is even a special section for parents!
Along with their website, you can also find the Rattles on Facebook and Twitter!
We are all enjoying this CD! Sometimes music for kids can be annoying, but not The Rattles. The songs on the "Rattle On" CD don't sound like your typical kids songs. When I first heard the CD, I immediately thought the songs sounded like something from The Beatles. The songs are upbeat and my kids seem to enjoy listening to them. This is a CD that parents will enjoy too! Check out this video to see for yourself...
You can hear a few of the other songs at Rattlesrock.com. I think my favorite song from the CD is "1-2-3 Count on Me". Rylie and Bryce seem to really like that one too!
