Date Night Prize Pack {Review & Giveaway}

Do you remember your first date? I will never forget my first date with the love of my life, who is now my husband. Although it wasn't really a date. You see, we were good friends. There were a group of us who always hung out together, and most of us worked together too. Brian and I had gotten close over the course of a few months. On October 15, 1999 we all decided to go out to Pleasure Island. Maybe Disney is magical, because that night we saw something in each other that we hadn't previously seen, and decided to take our friendship to the next level. Eleven years and two kids later, we're still going strong!

These days, we don't often get the opportunity for a "date night". We do try to spend some time by ourselves, though, since all parents need some kid-free time together. A lot of our date nights are date nights in. We feed the kids their dinner and do the nightly routine, and then once the kids are in bed we sit down and enjoy a quiet dinner together. I say quiet, but usually the TV is on and we're trying to catch up on our DVR, since our TV time is limited lately also. That is the perfect "date night" for us. It gives us a chance to eat something that we wouldn't normally make for a family dinner, and we're able to eat without watching food being thrown from a high chair, or cleaning up the milk that was accidentally tipped over. Ahhh, so relaxing.

When I received the Date Night Prize Pack from Macaroni Grill and Wanchai Ferry, I couldn't wait to have one of those peaceful dinners. Wanchai Ferry® and Macaroni Grill® Dry Dinner Kits can help you create a special evening in the comfort of your own home.

Enjoy an Asian escape with Wanchai Ferry restaurant-inspired dishes by simply adding your own protein to delicious entrees like Cashew Chicken, Spicy Garlic Chicken, Orange Chicken, and Kung Pao Chicken. Or bring the romance of Italian cuisine to your kitchen with Macaroni Grill favorites such as Chicken Piccata and Angel Hair Pasta, Creamy Basil Parmesan Chicken & Pasta, Chicken Alfredo with Linguine, Garlic & Herb Chicken Penne, and Chicken Marsala with Linguine.

I received the Creamy Basil Parmesan Chicken & Pasta dinner kit from Macaroni Grill, and the Orange Chicken dinner kit from Wanchai Ferry. I also received a $25 Visa gift card to help create "a magical date night at home".

We decided to try the Macaroni Grill dinner kit. It was so easy to make! Well, that is what my husband said, at least. He is the cook around here lately. Yes, I know how lucky I am! He sliced up some chicken breasts and cooked them according to the package directions with the sauce mix, while the pasta was cooking. Once everything was cooked he tossed the chicken and sauce with the pasta and our delicious dinner was ready. It was so good! It actually tasted like something you would get at a restaurant. Our date night in was a success! And even though I wouldn't trade flying food and spilled milk for anything in the world, it was nice to have a peaceful dinner that we were able to enjoy.

For more information and dinner tips, visit WanchaiFerryAtHome.com and MacaroniGrillAtHome.com. And be sure to follow Macaroni Grill on Twitter and “Like” the Facebook page to keep up with all of the latest news on your Macaroni Grill favorites! You can also visit MyBlogSpark for a coupon for these great dinner kits!

~*~One of my readers is going to receive the Date Night Prize Pack I mentioned in my review! This consists of the two dinner kits and a $25 Visa card!~*~

Our kids are grown so it is easy for us to have home dates at any time. Anything that you want can be included. We enjoy prayer time together at 7 pm nightly and then go to things we have recorded on our dvr. We have a loveseat with recliners and a small storage place between them. Just being together is what is important to us. We take a daily walk together and that is a talking time for us.
