A few weeks ago I came across SodaStream and was immediately interested in this revolutionary new product. I thought it would be so cool to make my own soda at home!
SodaStream is a home soda maker that turns tap water into sparkling water or soda in seconds. It is easy to use and takes up very little space. It is a great value too. You actually save money by making your own soda.
Soda that you make with SodaStream is so much better for you than regular soda. The regular sodamix uses a mixture of sugar and Splenda, and does not have any high fructose corn syrup. The diet sodamix is sugar-free and is sweetened with Splenda. There are over 30 different flavors to choose from, so you can make what you want when you want it. You can also control the amount of fizz in your soda. The BPA free bottles have a fizz preserving cap, so you never have to worry about having a flat bottle of soda again.
The SodaStream is "Earth Friendly". It does not require any batteries or electricity, and there are no empties to recycle or throw away. It really is a great product all around!
I was so excited when I found out I was getting a SodaStream for review! We couldn't wait to open it up and try it out. I was happy to see how many different kinds of sodamix we were sent along with the SodaStream.
We received the SodaStream Fountain Jet, one 60-liter carbonator and two carbonating bottles. We also received one 3-pack of MyWater Flavor Essence and nine bottles of sodamix in Root Beer, Orange Mango, Cola, Lemonade, Diet Cranberry-Raspberry, Diet Lemon-Lime, Diet Cola, Diet Pink Grapefruit and Energy.
It was so easy to set up and get started. Brian loves to put stuff together so I let him do the work. There was nothing to it. He hooked up the carbonator and got busy making soda. All you do is fill one bottle with cold tap water and attach it to the SodaStream. Then you press the carbonation button a few times until you hear the "buzz" to carbonate your water.
Once you have your carbonated water you can enjoy your refreshing seltzer water plain, add a few drops of MyWater Flavor Essence, or use sodamix to turn it into great tasting soda.
One thing we did learn was that when you pour the sodamix into the carbonated water, do it VERY slowly. Brian poured the first syrup in quickly and the fizz turned into something like an erupting volcano. He didn't read the instructions very well. Luckily he was doing it over the sink, so it saved us from having to clean up any mess.
We first tried the Orange Mango flavor. YUM! I am not usually a fan of Splenda, but it tasted so good! Brian likes diet drinks, so he made the Diet Cola and said it tasted just like Coke Zero.
And there you have it. It really is THAT easy!
Tonight we made some more for Rylie. Since there is no HFCS in it, I feel comfortable allowing her to enjoy the soda we make with our SodaStream. She had so much fun watching daddy make the soda. She loved watching the fizz. She chose the Lemonade flavor and thought it was "yummy"! I am actually drinking some of it right now as I write this. I can't wait to try the rest of the flavors.
The SodaStream soda makers come in a variety of types and colors starting at $99.95 for the Fountain Jet Seltzer Starter Kit. That includes the Fountain Jet, one carbonator and two reusable bottles. The sodamix flavors are $4.99 a bottle, and each bottle makes 12 liters (about 33 cans) of soda. It is a great value!
You can find out more about SodaStream and the different products on the SodaStream website. You can also find SodaStream on Facebook and Twitter. I really like my SodaStream and I know you will too!
Disclaimer: This opinion is my own. I received the SodaStream at no cost for the purpose of this review, and I was not compensated in any other way.

Did the buzz sound make you jump the first time you heard it too? We initially tried ours out at my in-laws and my MIL got quite the scare!
Hmm, I don't think we've tried Lemonade or Orange Mango, they sound tasty!
That looks like so much fun! I so have to look into getting one of those!
The taste is great and the making of it is easy and fun - especially when you forget to pour slowly and get the volcano erupting action. Kids love that part. :-)
I can't wait to try mine out the boys are ready and willing as soon as I have the time.
Have been eying this product myself!
