If you guessed Bryce, you are right! For a couple weeks now he has been able to take only three steps before toppling over. Not anymore! He can easily get from point A to point B with no problem now. He's so cute, too! I love the little Frankenstein-like walk they do when they first start walking.
However, he only walks if you don't have the video camera handy. That little stinker! Yesterday was when he really started taking more than three steps at time. So last night we got the camera out and charged up so we could catch him practicing his new skill. Yeah, not so much. When we had the camera ready today, he just would not do it. Apparently he doesn't even want us to watch him walk, either. Earlier this evening I left him out in our front room playing and went into the kitchen. When I came back around the corner he was walking out towards the kitchen. As soon as he saw me he flopped down. I guess he's already pulling the "I'm still a baby" card.
Hopefully he'll perfect his walking skills a little this week so he can enjoy his birthday party just a little bit more next weekend!
And speaking of firsts, this was Rylie's first weekend away from home without us. Mama came over to watch the kids for the rest of the week after I pulled them out of daycare last Tuesday, and Rylie went back home with her Friday evening. I didn't think she would even go, but she left with a smile. She is having so much fun! On Saturday Mama took her to see Toy Story 3 and said she sat there the whole time and even wore the 3D glasses. She loved it! And then on Saturday evening Mama and Papa took her to the beach. That was her first movie and her first time at the beach! Today they met some of Mama's friends for lunch and then played more at the beach.
When I talked to my mom earlier this morning I asked if Rylie had asked for us and she said no. Well, that was a different story tonight. I was just talking to her on the phone and all of the sudden she got real sad and said "Mommy I want to come at your house." She started crying a little bit and I told her we were going to pick her up tomorrow after she went to the zoo. I felt so bad for her. In a selfish way I'm glad she misses us, but I never like to hear my little girl cry. I'm sure she will forget all about us tomorrow, while she is having fun at the zoo. And then we're meeting my parents half way to get her. I'll be so glad to see her!
So, no Sunday funnies today, because there was just too much headline news to share! This was a weekend full of firsts!
I hope everyone is having a great weekend! We have just been getting party stuff ready and getting our house cleaned up, since we'll be having some out of town guests coming in Friday for the big birthday bash next weekend. Wow, one more week and my baby will be ONE! Crazy!

What a big weekend! Your son and my daughter are really close in age my daughter turns 1 in about 2 weeks. It's such a fun age. She's not a walker quite yet but took her first steps unsupported last night. So exciting!
Lol, gotta love how kids just know not to do what you want when the cameras out & ready. :p
Our youngest is turning 1 at the end of the month and is so close to walking. She's doing the 2-3 steps then falling thing. I'm thinking by her bday she'll be toddling around (love the frankenstein walk). :)
How exciting for both Bryce and Rylie. I can't believe that is her first time at the beach?!
Can't wait to see you Sat!
So excited Bryce is walking!! Maybe we can lose those stubborn few pounds by chasing our kiddos all over the house. hehe Cannot freaking wait to hear all about Bryce's 1st birthday party!! Have a great week!!!!
Ahh, I miss first steps. Hopefully Rylie will be more mindful of him than Cam is of Chloe. She is forever knocking her down!
Speaking of beaches....we have a beautiful one here if you ever want to swing this way :)
Wow..what an exciting weekend for you guys. As far as Bryce, I am just laughing as I picture him in my head plopping down on the floor when you catch him walking. I guess he wants to explore and perfect his walk before he shares it with the world. I am sure Rylie was having a great time with her grandparents. Once she spoke with you, of course she is going to be a little sad. But it is good for both of you. Now you need your mom to take Bryce so you and your husband can have a weekend alone :)
