The kids have to take backpacks with them every day to school and we got everything packed up last night. Of course we had to get pictures this morning…
(Ignore the wet spot on Rylie’s shirt, please. She was goofing off in the bathroom and got water on it.)
Rylie didn’t want to carry her backpack on her back, but refused to let anyone else carry it for her. The thing is almost as big as she is! She was so excited, though, to carry her backpack into school.
When we got to school the owner took Bryce and put him in a high chair to get him ready for breakfast. He started crying, but stopped after a minute or so. Then she came up to Rylie and greeted her and tried to get her to put her “buppy” in her backpack. Yeah, no such luck with that today…maybe tomorrow. Once Rylie realized I was leaving she started crying and kept asking to give me kisses. I made the goodbye short and sweet and I left.
About 20 minutes later I got a call from the owner. The first thing she said was “there is no problem” and then she let me know that Rylie didn’t cry at all after I left. She said she was surprised, but so happy that she did so well. She said both kids ate breakfast and were in their classrooms playing and having a good time. I was so glad that she called me! It really meant a lot that she went out of her way to do that. I really think I’m going to like this place, and I think the kids will too! I can't wait to hear how their first day went!
I will post an update later in the week…

That is so great that the owner took the time to call you to give you the update. It must feel like a weight off your shoulders to have someone so caring at your new school!
It was so nice of the owner to call you! I've been so busy IRL that I'm behind on my blog reading so I've got to go back and find out how we arrived at this new place :)
YAAAAY! So happy day 1 has started off so well! :)
That's awesome! What a great way to start your Monday...errr...I mean Tuesday! The Director really earned herself a smiley sticker for the day, didn't she? :)

I am so glad things went well! I work at a mother's day out program two days a week and I always get so upset when I read stories like what you had to go through at the old daycare. I'm glad they seem to be at a really fantastic place now!!!

I'm glad we're not the only people who refer to it as school. Because hey, they are there learning, right?
I'm SO glad their first day (at least the first part of it) went so well and I hope this is the beginning of a beautiful new relationship! Them calling to check in with you is definitely a sign in that direction!
