Sunday Funnies And Other News

Is it really after 10 on Sunday night already? Where did the weekend go?  It seems like I was just talking about what a busy day I had ahead of me on Friday, and now it is the end of the weekend already.  If only the work weeks went by this fast.

We had a great weekend!  On Saturday we celebrated Lily's second birthday (more on that tomorrow) and today we drove to Lakeland to meet Mama, Papa and Uncle Danny for lunch at Cracker Barrel.  I was dreading the hour ride there and back, but the kids did really well!  We had a nice lunch and then the kids played outside for a few minutes until we were all almost passing out from the heat.

I actually have some funnies for you this weekend!  Or at least stuff that I thought was funny.

Rylie was washing her hands one evening and she told me to smell the soap.  I smelled it and then I asked her what it smelled like and she said "apples and bacon".  That's a new one.  Maybe Bath and Body Works just got a tip for a new scent?

Rylie got mad at me for something the other day.  I can't even remember what it was since she is always mad at me for something these days.  So she said "well you're not coming to my party!"  I was like "Your party? When is that?" and she said "January 14th!"  Hopefully she won't still be holding a grudge by then.

Whenever Rylie says something new that is a little off-the-wall, Brian and I usually ask her "Who taught you that?"  So lately she has been saying "well, actually..." a lot.  The other morning she said it and then said "Hey, who taught me actually?"

And last in this Sunday's installment of "I think my kid is really funny but you probably aren't laughing" is how whenever Rylie learns how to do something new she says "Hey, watch my cool trick!"  I guess she got it from Yo Gabba Gabba's "cool trick" segment, even though she hasn't watched that show in a while.  Luckily it hasn't yet been followed up with her trying to fly off of some furniture, or swing from the drapes.  I'm sure that is coming, though.

And in other news...

Bryce got his first "naughty note" from school last week.  What was it for?  BITING!!!  It is way too early for him to be getting notes for biting.  I guess he was playing with his friend and just chomped down on his arm.  I hate teething!!!

And if that wasn't bad enough, guess who else got a naughty note for biting?  Yeah, the little princess.  One of her friends at school was pulling on her shirt.  She told him once to stop and when he kept up, she bit his arm.  Geez.  She hasn't bit anyone in over a year.  That was a little nuts.  We talked about how we don't bite our friends, so hopefully that won't happen again.

We learned last week that Bryce does the same thing as I do and eats one thing at a time.  Brian gave him four different fruits and spread them out on his tray and he ate all of each one before moving on to the next.  At least he doesn't seem to mind if it touches...hopefully he won't be weird like me with that too.

Can you believe we are already planning Bryce's first birthday party?!?!  I cannot believe that he will be a year old in less than two months.  I went and reserved a pavilion at the park, because the thought of getting my disaster house ready for a party was already stressing me out.  Now we just have to hope there isn't a hurricane coming through here that weekend!

Oh, and we uploaded new pictures to the Picasa site tonight.  They are actually still uploading as I'm typing this, but hopefully they will be finished soon.  Enjoy!

I hope everyone had a great weekend, and has a great week this week!

Now I have the "cool tricks, cool tricks...yeah!" in my head!

Hey LeeAnn...loving the apples and bacon! Christopher sometimes says silly things like that. And biting...I am so with you there. Anthony is biting like crazy. I am not sure if it is because he is at the age where he is just learning to communicate (16 mos) and doesn't really talk yet. Or if he is just looking for a way to protect himself against his older brother..LOL!

Your kids are Team Edward! Mine are too. Chloe has gotten a note about biting 3 or 4 times this year. I used to sweat it, now I just laugh it off, once she has more words to use, that should subside.

Cam has always been a tough kid. One day we were walking through a parking lot and she tripped over the concrete car stop thing. She hit the ground hard. People near by rushed up to her to help her up and she pops up and says "That was a neat trick!" and kept walking. Hilarious! Didn't realize Yo gabba taught her that.

Your funnies are truly funny!
