A Real Saturday Playdate

This past Saturday my friend Jen came over to take some pictures of Bryce for his birthday party invitations, so we made a playdate/cookout out of it! You know I will be showing you Bryce's pictures soon, but for now I want to share some pictures of these little girls playing together.

I met Jen back in our wedding planning days, which really was not all that long ago. She got pregnant shortly after I did and her daughter Lily is about 6 months younger than Rylie. Unfortunately we are both busy busy busy, so we aren't able to get together all that often, and that certainly needs to change. Rylie and Lily had SO much fun together! I had fun watching them and listening to all of the giggles. I can't wait until these girls start having slumber parties! Well, I say that now, but the giggling at 2AM might drive me just a little nuts. LOL

After we did Bryce's little photo shoot, we grilled some hamburgers and hot dogs. We brought Rylie's little picnic table in from outside and the girls had a picnic in the house. They finished eating before the rest of us did and disappeared out into the "play room". (Really, every room in my house is a friggin play room, but most of the toys are out in our front room at the moment.) I thought they were being a little too quiet, so I went out to investigate and found them sitting on the stairs actually sharing toys!

This was quite a surprise to me since they are both at that "That's MINE!" stage. They sat there and played for a while until we finished eating.

And yes, Rylie is in her bathing suit since that is pretty much all she wears on the weekends. And after she goes swimming, she just puts another dry one on. She naps in them, but I do make her put her jammies on for bed.

Anyway - the girls ended up in my room with their dads at one point in time and were laughing like crazy while they were jumping all over my bed. (The girls, not the dads.) Luckily neither of the monkeys bumped their heads! And after they were all tired out from that, Lily got her jammies on for the ride home. Only she didn't want to leave, and Rylie certainly didn't want her to. She kept saying "I want Lily to lay in my bed."

First they had to walk the dog...

Then they had to drive each other around on the school bus...

Finally, well after 10, Lily was on her way home and Rylie was in bed. What a fun night we all had!

Isn't this the best when they start really playing with their friends!?! That picture of them holding hands is so sweet!

I would probably live in my bathing suit too if I had a pool. Though jammies are much more comfortable.

Glad to see they had fun together!

I am sure the pics of Bryce came out adorable. CCan you believe he is going to be one already? I can't wait to see them. Rylie is at such a fun age now. And it gets even better in a few months when they are past the 'it's mine' stage and really start to interact and play nice. You have alot to look forward too :)
