We had a fun morning at Monkey Joe's today with Andrea and Angelica! Now both kids are napping at the same time, which rarely happens around here, so I actually get some weekend computer time. Yay! I wanted to jot down some of Rylie's "funnies" from the week.
I've apparently created a monster. A chocolate monster, that is. As I have talked about before, she has been doing #1 in the potty for a while now, but up until recently she was still having problems with #2. When I received my Ghirardelli Chocolate winnings, she wanted to gobble them all up, but instead we used the chocolate squares as a little incentive for going poop on the potty. And it worked. A little too well, maybe. So now every time she poops, she wants her "big big chocolate". Luckily she only goes like once every other day. Add to that fact that Bryce's teachers keep a stash of chocolate in their classroom and Rylie now knows where it is since they gave her some "nemenems" once, and you have the lead up to a funny story...
Friday when I picked her up from school she was so proud to tell me that she pooped in the potty. And of course she told me she needed her big big chocolate. When we went in Bryce's room to get him, she started telling Bryce's teacher about her potty adventures for the day. I knew exactly what she was doing. She was going on and on about how she peed in the potty all day and didn't have any accidents and that she pooped in the potty too. Then she goes over to the cabinet where their chocolate stash is and says "and now I need my big big chocolate". HAHA The kid has a memory like an elephant. (They have good memories, right?) I thought it was pretty funny that she had set herself up for a chocolate reward.
And BTW...she STILL has yet to have an accident! I really am so proud of her!
She continued to crack us up Friday night when she took off her socks and put them on her hands like gloves. She said "I need to check Bryce's diaper for poopie." (The girls at daycare have to use gloves when they change diapers, so that is where she gets that from.) It was so funny! She proceeded to pull his shorts out and look down them. I only wonder what she would have done had she found something.
And then there was the funny from our trip to Alabama last weekend. I was inside feeding Bryce and getting him to bed while everyone was outside playing. At one point Rylie wanted to come in and my aunt told her that if she went up the stairs and went inside that I would make her go to bed. So she knew to stay off the stairs. A little bit later my mom and my aunt were sitting on the stairs and were about to get up and Rylie said "1-2-3, your mother will be here soon, sit down and be quiet!" Hmmm...I guess we know what goes on at daycare in the evenings. (I can't say that I blame her teacher, though, since it is sometimes a madhouse when I go in there.) My aunt and my mom were cracking up all night about that.
In other news...we are now a 2 car Nissan family. Brian's lease on his TL was up, so he has been looking for a little while trying to figure out what to get. Yesterday he got a new Nissan Maxima. It is a really nice car! The only drawback is that now we'll be putting Bryce's Boulevard in it (his infant seat was in the TL all this time) and there just isn't room for two rear facing Boulevards. Which means Rylie's seat will have to be turned around in his car. The kids are rarely in his car so she may not even ride in it for a while, but I'm afraid that once she rides forward facing we'll have to turn her around in my truck too, and I'm just not ready for that. We'll cross that bridge when we get there, though.
Also, Bryce has tooth #2! He is so so so close to crawling too! He tries so hard, but still isn't quite there. He has been standing and playing at his activity table, and he really enjoys that. I think he will be a climber too, since now when I hold him he tries to climb all over me.
I guess I better get to the never ending dishes and laundry. Brian and Spencer are already out in the pool and I'd like to join them with the kids when they wake up. I hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Big big chocolate! That's too funny. I've got to admit I'm jealous reading about Bryce getting so close to crawling. Babygirl is too, but I feel it's taking her forever!!! She just can't figure out one leg!
