BTW...I hate the word "panties". That word is like nails on a chalkboard to me. And now that we have gotten that out of the way...
Rylie wore "undie-wear" to school today! (That is how she says it. It is so cute!) She only had a pull-up on for nap time and she didn't have any accidents all day! Yay! Of course as soon as I got home and posted that on Facebook, she came in from being outside with her dad with wet shorts. But only one accident in her first day of big girl underwear is still great in my book. (And yes, I post stuff about my kid wearing underwear on FB. I also post about getting pooped on. I'm just lame like that.)
We started trying to get Rylie interested in the potty right before her second birthday. Her teacher is super awesome and has been working with her also. Over the past few months she has started wearing pull-ups and slowly but surely is getting there. We are letting her go at her own pace and we're not forcing her to do anything. If she wants to put a diaper on and go hide in her ball pit and poop, that is fine with me. If she would would rather pee in her pull-up than in the potty, that is fine with me too.
A week or so ago I let her pick out some big girl underwear. I really thought she would go for the Dora undies, but she picked Elmo and Zoe instead. I don't let her wear anything without washing it first so every night she would ask me if I washed them yet. I finally got them all washed last weekend. My mom kept the kids Saturday night and she wore them for the first time then. My mom said she did great. She hasn't wanted them again until today though. And she was so proud of herself. Her teacher said she told everyone that walked in their classroom about her undie-wear.
She is all excited to wear her underwear to school again tomorrow. It looks like we may have a potty trained little girl soon! Or at least I hope so!

That's awesome. There's freedom in being diaper free and the bonus is that you learn where the potty is in every single store and restaurant you frequent.
Too funny you say you hate the word "panties", I just told my friend the same exact thing yesterday! The little girl I babysit calls them that and has passed it on to my daughter. I can't stand it; it sounds like something out of a porno.
