My Pride And Joy(s)

It is day 4 of Mother's Day Mania over on My Little Life. Today's theme is what do you enjoy most about being a mother...or...have you had an embarrassing mom moment?

I can't really recall having a really embarrassing mom moment. Well, unless you count the car seat incident. And there are the times where a kid has pulled my shirt down and exposed my bra to the world. But that happens to everyone, right?

So I'll answer the other question. What do I enjoy most about being a mother? NAP TIME! Nah, I'm just kidding. What I enjoy most is the whole pride and joy thing. I always feel so proud. Every time someone tells me how cute one (or both) of my kids are. Every time someone tells me how smart Rylie is. Every time Rylie does something I ask her to do. Every time Bryce does something new. I just feel proud.

When Rylie had her Spring Gala at school, I can't even put into words how proud I was. I went in thinking that she would see me and run right to me and not sing with her friends. But she didn't. She stood there and did what she was supposed to do. And even though it was just a silly little song with her daycare teacher, I was so proud of her! I can't even imagine the feelings of pride I am going to have as they grow up and really do some awesome things.

And then there is the joy. The joy I feel when I go into Bryce's room in the morning and he smiles at me and his big blue eyes just light up. The joy I feel when Rylie walks over to me and hugs me just because. The joy I feel when we are all just rolling around on the floor playing. I always thought I knew what real happiness was, but now that I have my kids, I KNOW what it is. And now I understand what "pride and joy" really means.
