Is there such a thing? You know, like when you get your house tented for termites. I feel like that is what we need right now.
Just when we thought Bryce was getting better I was showered in vomit yet again. Right after his bath Tuesday night he let loose on me. My Mom and Dad were just getting ready to pack up and go home since we thought he would be going back to school on Wednesday. Um, nope. I called the nurse at his pediatrician’s office and she said that it is rare, but these bugs can sometimes hang around for a week or even longer. I was really starting to worry that there was something else going on with him. Until…
I woke up Wednesday morning to my Mom throwing up. I couldn’t believe it! She used to be a teacher and was immune to all of this stuff, but I guess she has been out of the game too long. She had a really bad day yesterday and at one point Brian thought she might need to go to the hospital. And let me tell you...it is almost just as heart wrenching to see a parent sick, as it is your child.
They both seem to be feeling better this morning, so hopefully they will both be over this. I swear my house smells like a garbage can. My mom is in the process of fumigating with Lysol and hopefully it won’t rain all day so we can open some windows and let some fresh air in.
I did some reading yesterday and pretty much came to the conclusion that Bryce and Mama have rotavirus. That is a NASTY bug. Not only does it cause severe gastrointestinal problems that can quickly lead to dehydration, especially in a baby, but it can survive on surfaces for days. It is very contagious.
Everyone has to get better. We have a big week planned next week with my cousins coming down to visit and everyone needs to be well. Not to mention the fact that I am exhausted, and that padded cell is looking even more welcoming.
Edit - Bryce threw up again today. I talked to the pediatrician (again) and they aren't concerned. Man I wish I could get on board with that. He isn't showing any signs of dehydration, which is good, but I'm still worried. Oh, and now Papa appears to have it too. Lovely.
