Well, except for the tumble Brian and Rylie took down a couple stairs. They are OK, though.
Anyway…I realized today how the health and mood of my children really affect my mood. Today is day two of everyone feeling well. Today is also the second day that Rylie didn’t cry when I dropped her off at daycare. Therefore, today is the second day that I am in a great mood and I am set up to have a great day!
Bryce seems to be feeling so much better! Apparently the steroid he was taking for his breathing cleared up his eczema, so he looks much better too! He is just all smiles lately. We have been having so much fun just playing with him. He is very vocal too, and loves to “talk”.
Rylie was so cute this morning. The little tumble down the stairs happened while I was up picking out her clothes and Brian was taking her downstairs to get some juice, so I didn’t end up getting anything picked out. When we went back up to her room, she opened her drawer and got out her favorite blue shorts with the flower on them. I tried to talk her into wearing something else, but she wasn’t having it, so she wore her favorite outfit to school today. I sat Bryce down to take his picture (gotta get some good pics while his face is clear!) and she actually wanted to sit down next to him and take pictures. On the way to school she told me she was going to read her Elmo book to me. It is a little board book with the different Sesame Street characters about colors. So she was like “Big Bird has orange” and “Ernie has lellow”. (Yes, she actually says “orange” now, rather than “eechew”.) When we got to school she said “no crying” as we were getting out of the truck, and I hoped that she really meant it. After we got Bryce all settled in his room, she put her books and her buppy in her cubby and ran over to the table. She didn’t cling to me or fuss like she does most days. Her teacher asked her where she wanted to sit and she said “by Cole” and went and sat down. I told her I loved her and she said “I love you too, Mommy” and that was it. I actually left there with a smile on my face this morning!
I think I was starting to fall into a little depression because of the kids being sick so much lately. I actually feel pretty well physically today, and mentally I feel great! It is amazing what some warm weather will do for all of us!
