Friday Ramblings And Five Question Friday - May 24th

Happy Friday everyone! It's been a crazy couple of weeks around here, but hey, what else is new?

So my boss decided to retire last week. I have worked for him for the last 13 years (with a brief break for my temporary move back to Tampa), and I am going to miss him. He was a great leader and mentor, and he will always be a great friend. That said, I've been working some crazy hours the last couple of weeks (after midnight one night, and past ten on two nights) and I'm just TIRED. Today isn't my normal Friday off, but my new boss told me to go ahead and take it off since I've already put in plenty of hours this week.

Last weekend was Rylie's dance recital, and let me just tell you guys that I am SO PROUD of my baby! Of course there will be a more detailed post about this, but I'll just tell you that she did so well! Seriously, her performance almost brought me to tears. She had a great year dancing with her friend Peyton, and they'll be back at it again next fall!

Lilliputiens Are Now Available In The US From HABA {Review}

Our house, like most houses with kids, has a lot of toys. Some toys fall into the category of toys the girls like, some fall into the category of toys I like (and wish they liked), and very few fall into the category of toys we both like. I can usually pick out toys I know the girls will love, but sometimes I think they will love something, and then get it home, they play with it a few minutes, and then it makes its way to the shelf and is seldom remembered.

When I saw the Lilliputiens, I fell in love. These toys are ADORABLE! They are brightly colored and looked like a lot of fun. I really had a hard time choosing just one to review. I tried to pick something the girls would like but that I loved too. Lilliputiens is based in Belgium, their toys are made by hand with care in Asia, and they are now being carried in the USA by HABA.

Caillou Bathtime With You {Review & Giveaway}

There are a lot of shows on television for children to watch, and my kids have a few favorites. I know that when the TV is off that they will play together with their toys, so we generally don't turn on the TV until around 4PM or 5PM when I need to make dinner and get a few things done. When I found out I was going to be doing a review for a Caillou bath toy, I recorded a few shows on our DVR for the girls to watch in the evenings to see what Caillou was all about. He is a curious 4-year old that is always discovering new things!

I Took My Dog For A Run #SmoothBlogger

OK, well really, the dog took me for a run. I ran with her, though, and I didn't die. That's the bottom line here, folks.

I pass a veterinarian's office on my way to work every day, and the other day their billboard read "If your dog is overweight, you're not getting enough exercise." I thought about Lucy and the fact that she does have some extra pudge around her midsection, so I figured some evening walks would benefit us all.

That night after dinner, I got the whole family excited about taking Lucy for a walk, and we all hit the trail near our house. Once Lucy was on the trail, she decided that we needed to run. I ran with her...a lot...and I managed to keep up with her. I noticed that when we were done running, I wasn't out of breath and ready to pass out like I would have been a few months ago.
