The Art Of Marriage Ops {Applebee's GC Giveaway}

Did you all know that I served in the military? I did. I was in the Alabama Air National Guard for six years. I was single for most of my time in the military, and the longest deployment I was ever on was for two weeks, so back then, I considered it a fun trip to a place I had never been before. Now that I have a family, though, I couldn't imagine being away from them for two weeks, and certainly not for several months at a time like our servicemen and servicewomen are now.

When a unit is deployed overseas, they are usually gone for a very long stretch of time. During that time, they miss so many life events while they are gone. They sacrifice so much of their lives to protect ours. Could you imagine missing the birth of your child? Many times, deployed servicemen do. When they come home and after the excitement of the homecoming wears off, they often fight a different battle...

Mary Poppins Corrupted My Kids

My kids have been watching Mary Poppins a lot lately. They have already seen it several times, and now it is on repeat in the car. Needless to say, they can pretty much recite the entire movie to you.

Do you all remember the scene in which she is giving the children medicine because they had been outside in the rain? Just in case you don’t, I’ll give you a little recap…

She pours the medicine from the bottle onto three spoons. Jane takes hers first and exclaims “Lime Cordial! Delicious!” Michael then takes his and says “Strawberry. Mmmmm.” Mary Poppins gulps hers down and then says “Rum Punch! Quite Satisfactory.” She then hiccups in true alcoholic form.

Initials, Inc. Personalized Bags {Review & Giveaway}

My son had his first official T-ball game this Saturday and I couldn't be a prouder Momma! Coming from a family full of baseball players it was only natural that he wanted to follow in our footsteps and chose baseball for his first sport. While we were able to pick up most of his gear at our local Sports Authority I selected not to get a baseball bag from the store because I noticed most of the boys on his team had very similar bags. I went on the web in search of a unique sports bag that would help us tell ours apart from any of the other boys on the team.

This brought me to Initials, inc. Launched officially as a Direct Selling Association party plan company in early 2005, Initials, inc. is now represented by thousands of Independent Creative Partners throughout the United States. The Georgia based Initials, Inc. is a premier personalized handbag and accessories company in the Direct Selling Industry and is consistently experiencing phenomenal growth in both sales and recruiting. The core company message of ‘There’s only one you!’ is celebrated through amazing personalized products, top in category career path and an abundance of opportunity for all that seek more for themselves and their families!

Five Question Friday - March 2nd

Wow! It is March already! It sure feels like spring is here in sunny Florida, too. We're supposed to get a "cold front" this weekend that will bring the temps back down to the mid-70s, but this week has been WARM. Rylie has been wearing all of her cute new spring clothes and Bryce is happy to be back in shorts again. I actually wore a white skirt to work yesterday and consulted with my friends on Facebook as to whether or not that was acceptable. The general consensus was that we don't have the "white rules" in Florida.

I'm heading home to St. Pete this weekend to attend my best friend's baby shower. I would say that SHE has been waiting so very long for this, but really, we all have. If anyone deserves to be a mom, it is Melissa, and I'm so happy to be celebrating the upcoming arrival of baby Mia with her this weekend! I'm taking Rylie with me, and Bryce and Daddy will have a boys' weekend. Rylie will stay with my other best friend Rebecca while my mom and I go to the shower, and she is super excited about that! Then when I come home Sunday, Rylie gets to stay with Mama for a few days. It's going to be a great weekend!

Does anyone have any fun plans for this weekend? Have a great one!

Friends With Kids - In Theaters March 9th

Friends With Kids Movie

Friends With Kids is coming to theaters on March 9th. After watching the trailer and reading the synopsis on the official Friends with Kids website, I'm not quite sure if this is a "date night" movie or more of a "chick flick", but either way, it is definitely a movie that I want to see!

Synopsis:

Friends With Kids is a daring and poignant ensemble comedy about a close-knit circle of friends at that moment in life when children arrive and everything changes. The last two singles in the group observe the effect that kids have had on their friends' relationships and wonder if there's a better way. They decide to have a kid together – and date other people.
